Located on the west side of the T junction of Rectory Road and Church Street in Sible Hedingham parish. 3 arms, 1 missing, and cone finial. This fingerpost was made by Maldon Iron Works to the Order No.801 in 1936 for delivery to No.2 District of Essex County Council. One arm has broken off and would have had directions to Hedingham Station and Halstead. The arm pointing to the left bears the direction to Braintree but has been deliberately left white as that route is now a narrow country lane. The middle legend on the right arm was cast with 3½ miles to Wethersfield but the figure 5 has been painted in. The reason for this is that the original route to Wethersfield on this route was cut off when Wethersfield airfield was built. Milestone Society National ID: EX_TL7734
