The railway under the bridge has been replaced by the modern A689, the bridge itself being replaced by a footbridge and Tenters Street itself truncated. Terraced housing behind the photographer has been replaced by modern housing on a completely different road layout. The old Odeon cinema has also gone, and not much these days in terms of a 'Town Service' on the buses. OK Motor Services were a substantial independent local bus operator based in Bishop Auckland, serving communities in what had been a series of colliery villages. The bus is a Leyland PD2A with Massey bodywork, originally new to Wigan Corporation in 1962.
