This new building replaced an earlier building housing the club that dated from 1926 and had been founded by workers from the Archdale Machine tool Company. The successor company closed in 1972 and the club was bought out by the former workers in 1973. The new club was financed by selling land for a new Lidl development and cost £1.7 million in 2015.
