On 1 February 2008, this footbridge was struck by a lorry engaged on engineering work and fell in front of a train. Fortunately casualties were light. It will be interesting to see whether the cost of repairing the bridge will be considered justifiable for what is probably very limited use. This is the view from the ramp down to the former goods yard.
