This underpass lies on a permissive path which may be taken by those on the public footpath connecting Newbridge Fields and New Inn Bridge. The permissive path is a diversion by means of which a crossing of the busy A48 road is avoided. As can be seen, the underpass is low. According to the signs on it, the maximum headroom here is 6 feet, or 1.83 metres.
