The floodlights on the right of the picture belong to Gay Meadow - the old stadium of Shrewsbury Town Football Club. The club moved to a new stadium near Meole Brace, to the south of the town, at the start of the 2007/8 season. On match days you used see a man in a coracle on the river waiting to retrieve the match ball should it be kicked out of the football ground.
