This is a sad sight as the Duke of Wellington used to be a popular Walsall pub. The 'Wellie', as it was always known, is situated at the top end of Birmingham Street, Walsall, close to St Matthews church. It had a reputation of serving the best pint of the locally brewed Highgate Mild Ale. The Highgate brewery is no further than a mile away. The pub has been closed for several years.
