Probably dating from the late 14th century, the chapel was appropriated by the crown and subsequently sold to the townspeople in 1574. It is held in trust by twelve feofees as a 'peculiar' outside the control of the Church of England. https://www.stlawrencechapelwarminster.co.uk/history
