Owned by Scottish and Southern Electric this is an exceedingly rare sight. The survival of the building of Bargates Power Station is quite unusual but electricity museums are rare and museums owned and run by major utility suppliers are also rare. The power station was originally equipped with reciprocating steam engines and they have found a similar machine to install in the old power house.
