Aqueduct across the River Irwell at Brooksbottom

Just upstream from the former Brooksbottom Mill (Image]). The base of one of the pillars of this disused aqueduct is partly eroded and covered with a thick layer of moss which makes it very difficult to read but it seems to include the letters R U D C (Ramsbottom Urban District Council?) and a date which looks like 189? - the last number is illegible. This suggests that it dates from the 1890s which is consistent with old maps. The aqueduct does not appear on the OS 1:10560 map of 1851 (https://bit.ly/3nVX5sR ) or the 1:2500 map of 1893 (https://bit.ly/3baYAxU ) but is shown on the 1:2500 map of 1910 (https://bit.ly/3f5FURk ). This is consistent with it being associated with the Brooksbottom Mill which dates from 1876 and had two lodges near to the aqueduct.
