Wrights have operated an ironmonger's in Girvan for many years, and is now part of the Home Hardware chain. The notice in the window says that "Seed tatties and onion sets are now in stock". Local growers, using light sandy soils, can plant early here, with 28 February being the traditional last date for planting Ayrshire's famous early potatoes.
