The manor house above was a ruin apparently but is now a home again. There were a nesting pair of Sparrowhawk in a nearby tree and we were treated to the pair of them chasing off a crow, with much piercing crying, harassed cawing and then a little celebratory victory lap of the area by (I assume) the male hawk while the rather more sensible female returned to her nest and brood of eggs or young. What a treat. Their nest was ingeniously hidden and would be impossible to find unless you stumbled upon a little tableau like the one we saw.
