High Street, Tenterden

The population in 2011 of this small Kent town was 7,735. This view shows the High Street as it was in 1990. There have been changes since; notably, the Midland Bank which later became HSBC has now gone - in common with so many bank branches in rural areas. Beyond that is the White Lion, an old coaching inn, which is still here. The mature tree on the left has gone. The parking arrangements seem a little odd, with the cars outside the bank apparently double parked.
