This board is located by bridge 135 adjacent to the towpath on the Grand Union Canal. Still sporting the old Canal & River Trust logo, it lists out the facilities available locally. Certainly, Tring station is still operational and is just a short walk from the canal. A public telephone is listed as being available at the station. The reference to food and drink is more confusing; the nearby Royal Hotel closed down some years ago and it is a lengthy walk to alternative pubs in Tring town or Aldbury.
