Histon station saw its last passengers in October 1970 with goods trains using the line until 1992. Since August 2011 the line to St Ives has formed the route of the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway. The Busway plan intended the demolition of the station but local residents campaigned successfully to save it. However, the building remained unused until recently. It now forms part of the Station Yard development which comprises twelve 1 & 2 bedroom apartments, here nearing completion. Histon station building is in the distance beyond the white van. The new buildings on the left are on the site of the goods shed.
