The farm and the farmhouse of Church Farm, in Church Street have been vacant for some years. The site is to be developed for housing. The farmhouse is seen at Image Hilperton is a residential village adjacent to the northern suburbs of Trowbridge and is only some 1¼ miles north of Trowbridge town centre. Although the village was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, little is known of its history until the 19th century when home-based cloth weaving was a major source of employment. The village was astride the A361 road but is now by-passed.
