The Mace & Nairn building dates to 16th or 17th century and is Grade II* listed. The jettied building beyond with the truncated gables dates in part from the 14th century, being mentioned as "Le Crane" (presumably an inn) in the Bishop's rental of 1455, and is consequently Grade I listed.
