The grounds of the house have a series of scenic paths and drives, and it is clear that when first laid out attention was paid to making the area 'romantic' with views of the river, whilst side streams such as this one were deliberately graded to form small waterfalls. After recent dry weather this little beck was hardly more than a trickle.
