This fine mansion opens it gardens to the public on just two days a year, luckily I was alert to that fact and headed there to enjoy a fabulous walk in Spring sunshine, and avoid the snow showers. The house was built in 1806 on the site of a pele tower built by the Scrope family in the 14thC.
