Lying at the corner of the High St and New St, London House dates from the mid 18th century, although there is an older (17th C) core, presumably of timber. It was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101054397-london-house-newport#.YHK2O-hKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1054397 in 1978.
