What from a distance looks like a TV satellite dish is actually an octagonal sundial, its numbers now somewhat faded. Near it on the south wall of the tower is a stone plaque reading "Turrem hanc labentem refici curavit C Cooper S.T.P. hujusce Ecclesiae Rector Ann: Dom: 1781". According to the Conservation Area Appraisal for the village, Revd Charles Cooper also rebuilt the chancel in 1803. See Image for context.
