Probably one of the smartest car showroom garages you will come across. Also known as the Saffron Rooms after the park next door it was purpose built as a car showroom in 1911 by a firm that has been trading motor vehicles since the day in 1904 when local Eastbourne residents Percy and Harry Caffyn agreed to accommodate a four cylinder Renault and saw a gap in the market. Over 100 years later the company they formed are still trading, have retained their Sussex roots and were responsible during the interwar years for a large number of art deco showrooms around the county. The showroom was built on the site of cottages and near the original building William Caffyn began his electrical business. Beyond is Eastbourne Town Hall.
