Dorando Close, W12

The building on the right is on the BBC White City site, that in turn was the site of the White City Stadium, home to the 1908 London Olympic Games, the road was originally White City Road until it was renamed Dorando Close that ran up to Westway where the car and the concrete wall now are. Mr Dorando was the 'winner' of the Marathon in the 1908 London Olympics, ran from Windsor Castle to White City but was disqualified because he was helped over the finishing line after collapsing several times.
