The sign depicts the Nelson Obelisk erected in the grounds of Dunham Lodge in 1814 to commemorate the death of Nelson and the signing of the Treaty of Paris. The date 1805 is the year of Nelson’s death and the sign was erected on the bi-centenary. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1965631
