Looking north-east from near Penn Common Road. Much of Penn Common has been used as a golf course since 1892-1893. There are many well managed attractive woodland areas and some patches of sandy heathland. Several publicly available footpaths cross the course, but it is not always quite clear what is the correct way. In any case, beware aerial missiles on a descending trajectory. http://www.historywebsite.co.uk/articles/PennCommon/Description.htm https://www.penngolfclub.co.uk/
