Taken from outside what was once the Halfway House bar. The barber's in the picture looks as if it may have once been a corner shop. North of here was once all railway sidings and the main road to Newhaven passed this spot. It now runs below to the north. Older maps show this leg of North Fort Street as George Street. Street names have changed in Leith due to duplication with Edinburgh, and I suspect that happened here.
