On at least one Ordnance Survey Map this field is marked as Recreation Ground. Later in the morning some people were playing games here. However the ancient sign at the entrance proclaims that action will be taken against any person who enters the land without prior consent or permission of Hereford & Worcester County Council. This would be difficult as the two counties, with adjusted boundaries, were split on the 1st April 1998. An earlier local government re-organisation had created the council from the 1st April 1974. It was never very popular, particularly with people living in Herefordshire.
