This is the mooring basin between the Dee Basin to the left, and the Shropshire Union Canal, which is on a higher level to the right. The old maps do not show any wharves around this basin, so it may have been where the narrow boats waited their turn to either pass through the locks or to be unloaded. The houses are along Cambrian Road.
