Preston St Mary’s sign is in the form of a shield, the colours are taken from local families shields found in the east windows of the church of St Mary. The three arrowheads are also to be found depicted in a stained glass window in the church. The fruits are there to represent the land all around the village, that, in the past, was mainly orchards. It was commissioned by the Parish council to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and erected in 2012. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4511454
