These two large semi-detached homes, part of a group of four, retain many of their original features and character, and were built in the late 1890s by Lewis Lundi of Rock Villa, Jesmond, who also owned a number of other properties nearby. When he died in November 1905, ownership passed to his son, Frederico George Lundi, who lived at 5 West Avenue, a property which no longer exits.
