The Twentywell Lane automatic recorder is behind the Mercia Motors car showroom and garage. The readings are constantly monitored and uploaded automatically to be viewed online here; https://flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/station/8299 Combined within a network of similar monitoring stations the Environment Agency can plot gathering floods as water flows down off the hills to the lower and flatter ground nearer the sea.
