Part of the Chinese Dragon Festival held on 2nd February 2008 and organised by the Borders Chinese Cultural Association to celebrate the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rat. Bank Street was closed to vehicular traffic for 2 hours to allow the festival, that included a dragon dance, lion dance and a Chinese market, to take place. The dancing performers were from the Glasgow Hong Lok Dragon and Lion Dancing Troupe.
