The Royal Train was upgraded for use during Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee celebrations in 1977. This carriage (No. 2905) is described as a Royal Household couchette, diesel generator and brake van https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Royal_Train#Fleet_from_1977. Her Majesty visited Aberdeen on 20th May 1977 as part of her Silver Jubilee tour of the UK. The previous day she had been in Perth and Dundee, from where she travelled north in the Royal Train to Aberdeen railway station.
