The farm is visible in the distance. This field is saturated after a rainy period earlier in the month. It is comparable to a paddy-field to walk across, making us circle around to secure the shallowest flood levels as the path line was too deep underwater for our walking boots. I put up three Snipe which took off in their jinking flight from my very feet as I sploshed and sloshed along. I was sorry to disturb them and anxious that they might return we hurried on.
