Whitfield Road Steps

The top of the steps leading down from Whitfield Road to Scotswood Station and the bridge under the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway. Scotswood Station closed on the 1 May 1967 and was subsequently demolished. The Hadrian's Wall Path National Trail follows the course of the former railway. There is an Ordnance Survey cut benchmark near the end of the wall (photograph Image).
