This unit has been in the car park for several months helping Worcester Acute Hospitals Trust deal with the backlog caused by Covid-19. Patients from across the county are coming here and the unit is operating seven days a week on an extended day. The Treatment Centre is a former district general hospital that was downgraded amidst a political furore that saw a former consultant physician elected as an independent MP on a save our hospital ticket. It is still a substantial estate but not all the buildings are being used fully and I believe there are now no inpatient wards left.
