Four new student accommodation blocks have been built (2 are visible here) on the old Luneside East industrial site. The old pumphouse is the only remaining St George's Works building (extreme right). (See Image) This will be renovated to provide a "central facilities hub". Two of the arches on the south side of Carlisle Bridge, which carries the West Coast Main Line over the River Lune, are in the background. Compare with a similar views taken in September 2019 Image and February 2020 Image The new accommodation blocks incorporate panels faced with Cor-Ten weathering steel (rust coloured).
