This stone is on the corner of a house, the old Boot & Shoe PH, which was the old A1/A63 Selby Road junction. It may be a stone from the Selby Leeds road, (10 miles each direction), a stone from the old Great North Road (182 miles from London) or just a stone to stop vehicles damaging the Inn corner. The London mileage is according to Norman W Webster. The Great North Road, P92.
