Riverside garden terrace at Cound

This lovely garden is patrolled by a pair of Bulldogs, who got all territorial as I walked past, ruffing, wuffing and generally swaggering bragadociously around their garden as if they owned the place. Which of course they do. Luckily I know the breed well, having owned a male Bulldog myself for a decade, so I chatted with them, calling them "Lovely Bullies!" and generally showing that I appreciated their efforts to scare me off. This encouraged them to new heights of territorial proprietorship and they came down to the waters edge and one even looked like he might swim over to scare me properly or, knowing the breed, more likely sniff me and play with me and insist on accompanying me on my walk for a while (they don't like to walk far). Always good to meet a Bully. They are never aggressive. It is all bluster really. Though they are doughty, honest and lovely pets. Mine made me laugh out loud at least once a day. Sorely missed, even decades later. This garden is ideal for them. They looked happy and healthy.
