Image: © P G Moore Taken: Unknown

Mine Boundary Marker on the open moorland of Craddock Moor, 1500 metres west of Minions. St Cleer parish. Inscribed WP and NP on its north and south faces. See also https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5555713. One of a series of five similar boundstones that run southwest to northeast across Craddock Moor. The inscription WP on the stones’ north faces stands for West Phoenix Mine, and the inscription NP on the south faces stands for New Phoenix Mine. The stones denote the limit of the sett of each of these mines. The mining operations at these sites were amalgamated in 1886, therefore it is probable that these stones predate this.
