There was a turnpike road from Rotherham to Barnby Moor which lasted from 1826 to 1878. Barnby Moor was an important place on the old Great North Road, now bypassed. This West Riding CC stone was set up in 1893/94. About 20 years ago Rotherham Council had all its milestones painted. This one is on the south side Wickersley Road between the A6123 roundabout and Brecks roundabout. 9 Miles to Tickhill can just be made out near the tarmac level. It is Grade II listed 335719
