The occasion was the 1980 Air Show held at Bournemouth (Hurn) Airport. Still with the original livery when she was acquired in 1975, she made her debut at the Biggin Hill Air Fair that same year. She continues at displays in the role of a flying memorial to the 79,000 US airmen who died fighting in the skies over Europe between 1942 and 1945. Sally-B famously starred in the 1990 film "Memphis Belle", taking the title role for the final nail-biting sequence when the battle-torn bomber returns home from her final mission.
