Numbers 11 and 12 Pye Corner are a pair of semi detached houses. Built in the early 19th century incorporating an earlier structure. There is a fragmentary timber encased in red brick. The front chimney stack has four round shafts and a cogged cornice. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1233868 Castle Hedingham is a small village in Essex about 15 miles north west of Colchester. The village developed around the Norman castle and is home to a large number of timber framed medieval buildings. The village’s railway station which was opened in 1867, closed in 1964 and was dismantled and rebuilt in 1974 on a new site to the north west of the village by the Colne Valley Railway Preservation Society.
