This is a triple expansion test engine built in 1928 by A G Mumford of Colchester and used at Sunderland Technical College in the engineering department. The cylinders are 5", 8" & 13" x 5". It would develop up to 35 indicated horsepower at 180 rpm. It could be run as a mixture of single or compound engines as well as a triple expansion engine. I am not sure where it is at the moment.
