Numbers 1 (left) and 2 Falcon Square were at one time one property, now two. Built in the 16th century, or earlier, with 18th century and later alterations and additions. Timber framed and stuccoed, partly refronted in brick. The right gable is jettied. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1122973 Castle Hedingham is a small village in Essex about 15 miles north west of Colchester. The village developed around the Norman castle and is home to a large number of timber framed medieval buildings. The village’s railway station which was opened in 1867, closed in 1964 and was dismantled and rebuilt in 1974 on a new site to the north west of the village by the Colne Valley Railway Preservation Society.
