Looking west-north-west, this is where the Oozells Street Loop rejoins the Birmingham Canal Navigations Main Line to Wolverhampton. Beyond the modern footbridge is St Vincent Street Bridge. The Oozells Street Loop is a remnant from the original James Brindley 1772 line to Wolverhampton, which was straightened by Thomas Telford between 1823 and 1838 (1827 by this section).
