Located on the South side of road, on downward sloping verge, 100m east of sign to Ravensworth & W Layton. Cast iron post, 19th/20th century. Inscription reads: {arrow to right} /BARNARD / CASTLE / 8 / MILES // {arrow to left} /CATTERICK / 10 / MILES // NRCC Milestone Society National ID: YN_CTBC10
