The Aquarium is situated on Fowey Town Quay. It contains specimens of the marine life found around the Cornish coast, such as tiny gobies from the shallows up to Conger eels which live in deeper waters; there are also crabs and lobsters and all manner of sea fishes. There is (or was when I took this photo) a 'touch pool' containing small crabs, prawns and anemones. The aquarium was established in 1952. Sea water is pumped in daily at high tide to refresh the water for its residents, the majority of which are obtained from local fishermen and anglers.
