The route of the Walsall Canal as it appeared in 1979 heading north-east from beside the bridge carrying Midland Road. The scene now, in early 2021, will be quite different; it seems from an aerial view that all of the buildings in the image have been removed. Smaller units have replaced the factories at the left side of the canal and there's a major dual carriageway beyond them. To the right, the old brick buildings have been replaced by a housing estate.
