This supermarket is on the site of Marlborough No. 2 Mill that was built in 1908 as a cotton spinning mill. The architecture is a pastiche of local mill architecture and includes a hotel de ville style tower, a stylised engine house and the former mill's name at roof level. It is a new build and not a re-used existing mill.
